26Mar2024 Group A Symposium on AI for Social Good co-organized by HKU-Cambridge AI for Neuro-disease Research Platform, and Department of Medicine, the University of Cambridge, entitled “AI for Healthy Aging: Revolutionizing Prediction and Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease” was held on 26 March 2024. A panel discussion was also held inviting HKU and Cambridge speakers to share their views on how to overcome data scarcity in Alzheimer's Disease research. Our forum speakers including (L to R): Board Chair (HKU-AI WiSe), Yang Han (RAP, HKU-AI WiSe), David Srolovitz (Dean, HKU Engineering), Victor OK Li (Director of HKU AI-WiSe), David Shih (HKU Biomedical Sciences), WC Chan (HKU Medicine), Jacqueline CK Lam (Co-Director of HKU-AI WiSe), David Rubinsztein (Cambridge Medicine), and Lawrence YL Cheung (CUHK Linguistics) had agreed that new tools such as LLMs/GAIs can provide a new opportunity for overcoming the bottlenecks.

26Mar2024 Group A banquet was held in celebration of the Symposium on AI for Social Good held on 26 March 2024, hosted by the Board Chair of HKU-AI WiSe. Our Dean of Engineering Prof. Srolovitz and our guest of honour from Cambridge Medicine, Prof. David Rubinsztein, had joyfully attended the banquet. 26Mar2024 Group This is the fifth AI for Social Good Symposium organized between HKU and the University of Cambridge. Prof. David Cardwell, PVC Cambridge, Dean David Srolovitz HKU, Board Chair (HKU-AI Wise), and Victor OK Li (Director, HKU-AI WiSe) had inaugurated the event.
